History and Translation Network Conference 2024

Mit dem thematischen Fokus „Geschichte – Translation – Politik“ laden das Institut für Theoretische und Angewandte Translationswissenschaft der Universität Graz und das History and Translation Network zur dritten History and Translation Network Conference von 11. bis 14. September 2024 ein. 

Die Konferenz stellt das Verständnis von Übersetzen und Dolmetschen als historisch und politisch kontextualisierte Aktivitäten in den Vordergrund. 

In 22 Panels und mehr als 90 individuellen Beiträgen werden wissenschaftliche Erkenntnisse, innovative methodische Zugänge und neue inter- und transdisziplinäre Themengebiete der Translationswissenschaft vorgestellt und diskutiert.

The Department of Translation Studies of the University of Graz and the History and Translation Network are happy to announce the third History and Translation Network Conference, which will take place in Graz from September 11-14, 2024. 

With its thematic focus of „History – Translation – Politics“, the conference foregrounds the understanding of translation and interpreting as historically and politically contextualized activities that can potentially bring about cultural and social transfer and transformation. 

22 panels and more than 90 individual presentations will discuss new inter- and transdisciplinary topics in the field of translation history and explore innovative methodological approaches.
