Warming up to moderate injustice?
Gastvortrag mit Prof. Dr. Gabriel Wollner (Integrative Research Institutes (IRIs) developed by Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin)
It is very likely that political solutions to the problem of climate change will turn out to be less than fully just. But what is the moral force of say a moderately unjust climate treaty? Would it be binding for those disadvantaged by it? I shall argue that the victims of even a moderately unjust climate treaty are morally free not to comply with it. In doing so I will put forward some general principles for thinking about both the moral force of better-than-nothing-but less than perfect policy proposals and the claims that moderately unjust institutions have on the victims of injustice.
