The summer school Translation in History - History in Translation will be continued at this coming summer as a two-day pre-conference workshop preceding the HTN conference at the University of Graz, Austria.

In translation history, research takes on a political dimension as it strives to alter established narratives, unveil obscured chapters in history, and advocate for silenced voices and unseen actors. For the summer school "Research in Translation History as a Political Act" we invite PhD students and early PostDocs to explore and reflect on the political potential of their research in translation history and their methodological perspectives to discover how their research endeavors can serve as agents of change. Renowned speakers will provide theoretical and methodological insights on this matter through workshops, encouraging lively discussions and debates. We will also offer opportunities for participants to discuss their work and related issues in small groups or individual consultations with our invited speakers as well as researchers from the Department of Translation Studies in Graz. This will enable participants to further develop their projects and ideas.
