uni≡kat and introduction to literature research
In this course you will learn the basic principles of literature reserach:
- search strategies
- search matrix
- truncation & wildcards
- phrase search
- keyword vs. subject term
- access to e-books and e-journals from home (VPN)
In the practical part of this course you will learn how to research literature in the library search engine uni≡kat, e.g. how to get the best results and how to refine your result list. Contents are:
- simple search / advanced search
- refining results
- searching different types of media
- e-books and e-journals in uni≡kat
- new acquisitions
- my account (reservations, renewals, fees), e-mail alerts
- further research tools (UnionCat, old holdings)
- interlibrary loan
Registration: UNIGRAZonline (Kursangebote der UB)
If you are not able to participate (for whatever reason): please take time to de-register, to give someone on the waiting list the opportunity to participate. It is the same procedure as for registration: click on the course titel, at the bottom of the page you find the button "De-Register".
Instead of register for the waiting list, you can choose another of the offered course dates. You can de-register from the waiting list too. An automatic transfer from the waiting list to another course date is unfortunately not possible.
