#119 What keeps the world bright for everyone?

Maintaining a humane climate is a matter of life and death. Innovative laws are needed, so that sustainable transformation of society and the economy will be successful without marginalising parts of the world's population. Larissa Jane Houston describes how the law can advance the energy transition and shape it in a socially just way, as, for example, in the "Just Energy Transition Partnership" between the EU and South Africa. The prerequisite is legal reforms in the energy sector in all countries. On this basis, fair cooperation between the states of the Global North and South should accelerate the phase-out of oil and gas.
