Religious rituals such as the celebration of the Eucharist, the sacraments and festivals throughout the year create meaning, give structure to life and embed the individual in a community. Theologian Peter Ebenbauer looks at what the practice of Christian worship can contribute to a good life. He shows which aspects are conducive to the health of body and soul and where outdated, anxiety-ridden ideas are still hidden. Ebenbauer is also involved in a new version of the German missal. The aim is to make the liturgical language of prayer compatible with current social developments. This includes, for example, gender-sensitive formulations and numerous newly created prayer texts.
