A museum is more than a building, knowledge is more than facts and communication is more than storytelling, cultural events are more than events. The interdisciplinary Master's module I + The Practice gives you practical insights into the scientific and cultural sector. You will learn to question, plan and communicate. Whether you want to organize science workshops for children or record podcasts for the science community. This is the right place for you!

What can I expect?

You will acquire knowledge about the communication of literary and cultural studies topics and then implement these in cooperation with renowned cultural institutions in Graz on the basis of a specific project. Various formats such as podcasts, films, radio reports, exhibitions and social media contributions will be used.

grasp and analyze literary and cultural-historical phenomena in their entire range and present them in a practical form adapted for teaching, both for a specialist and a non-academic audience
work with modern information repositories (through qualitative selection of information available in traditional (books, journals, etc.) and "digital" (Internet, databases, etc.) knowledge repositories),
to pass on study-related content in the context of organizing trips, museum tours, etc. as well as in the course of publications in non-scientific publication organs
organize science-to-public events, which opens up access to non-university professional fields
