What is the best way to prepare for the future? By understanding the past. Our shared past is formed by the epochs, people and societies of times gone by. Studying history teaches us to put events into context and gives bachelor’s students an optimal preparation for a wide variety of future careers.

Typical fields of employment include libraries and publishing, media and documentation work (press, radio, TV, online media), culture and research management, museum didactics and education, adult education, and tourism.

Note on Latin

During your bachelor’s studies you will need to show evidence of Latin language skills (10 hours per week in the sixth form or supplementary examination). This is required to be able to take the course "Introduction to Medieval History" in the 4th semester.
